Artist Statement:

Living in the Far North I feel an intense kindred spirit with Mother Nature and all her bold brushstrokes and brash colors. I marvel at the teal, glacial fed rivers, the dangerous yet inviting mossy green mudflats, and the purple rain showers that travel the Turnagain Arm. Many afternoons my husband and I sit in awe of sunsets that change winter white into a surreal pallet of neon orange, pink, peach and gold. I am inspired by this powerful, natural beauty to create artwork that incorporates the extraordinary colors that surround me.

My primary job is that of a stay-at-home mom to three active children. My painting complements and reflects my role as a mother, sometimes giving life and vibrancy to things that are otherwise still, sometimes attempting to slow down the blur of our daily lives to capture and cherish moments that are all too fleeting.
